A handy guide for the person wishing to know more about how their outboard operates, how to care for the same and plenty of good hints. Would be also suitable for a person wanting to take the engine apart and rebuild, written in simple style with good illustrations.

It doesnt beat an original factory service manual by any means, buit I must say this one is better than the Clymer manual covering a similar range of outboards. The information is a little old now in some sections and could use updating, but probably your best choice in the 3rd party manual offerings.

THE MANUAL IS WELL WRITTEN AND EASY TO UNDERSTAND WITH PLENTY OF PICTURES TO GO WITH EACH SECTION. I IMMEDIATELY FOUND THE PROPER AREA TO CHECK ON MY MOTOR AND FOLLOWING THE GUIDE TROUBLE SHOT AND REPAIRED THE THING WITHOUT ANY MAJOR PROBLEMS. I WOULD ALSO SAY THAT AMAZON GOT THE BOOK TO ME QUICKLY, AND I APPRECIATE THAT.

Mercury Outboard Shop Manual

Once again, another fine product from Clymer's. I have only had this manual for about a week now, but have found the information to be accurate and very well detailed. The wire schematic section was great! Colored wires would have been better but it was easy to follow. If you have an outboard motor, you will need this valuable manual.

This manual will help you get most jobs done on your motor, though it is not as detailed as a full factory repair manual. The price is much lower than a factory manual too. Overall this will be sufficient to get a mechanical person through most tasks that you'll need to accomplish.

Product Description

The best protection available against costly outboard motor theft. McGard outboard motor locks are designed to lock the bolt that holds the outboard onto the transom of the boat. Simply replace one of the mounting nuts with a McGard locking nut. These outboard motor locks are fully machined from high quality stainless steel and are through-hardened. A free-spinning collar turns if attacked by gripping tools. Fits most of the following outboard motors: Honda 8-20 hp, Johnson/Evinrude 6-30 hp, Mercury/Mariner 8-25 hp, Nissan 8-18 hp, Suzuki 8-30 hp, Tohatsu 8-18 hp, Yamaha 8-25 hp (lock may fit some 2 strokes up to 30 hp, verify hole diameter). *Will fit other small outboards with a 5/16" hole in the transom bracket for mounting the motor (stainless steel bolt included in set).

Barely slowed down the thieves.

I had one of these on my Suzuki 9.9 HP outboard. Judging from the scene of the crime, it barely slowed them down. From what I can see, they simply crushed the barrel with something big like vice grip jaws on a bolt cutter frame and off she came. Maybe slowed them down a few seconds. If you only use one, they can disconnect everything else and use the outboard itself as a lever against it.Thieves suck.

Peace of Mind

I drilled through my boat's transom and installed the outboard lock. It is about as good of a security measure you can install for an outboard. Good quality and it has held up well in a salt water environment.

Product Description

This book was written for the added information of the professionals, students and advocates of forest resources management. It focuses on the unique logging practices in the isolated Teak forests in Myanmar, the muddy peat swamp forests in Indonesia and Malaysia, the steep mountain forests in Bhutan and an artificially-submerged forest in Lao PDR. In those peculiar sites, logging could only be undertaken by manpower and draught animals with light machinery providing complementary support only. The book emphasizes on elephant logging because 240 of the animals worked with the author for 5 years at a forestry development project in Myanmar. Environment lovers appreciate this logging “machinery” for not using fossil fuel and exerting low impact on the forest and soil. And most important of all, the elephant is intelligent, smart, hard working and plays timely antics that bring laughter to the woods.

Product Description

'Our Adventures on Board Samana' is a journal of a family's sailing adventure through the Caribbean. The book takes you along with us on our travels from Charleston, SC to Grenada, and back, over the course of three years. This voyage was a lifetime dream for me, and I was lucky enough that my husband, and our two children, shared the same Caribbean sailing dream. Our adventure started when we came home from a three week summer sailing vacation in the British Virgin Islands. It was initiated when our two children exclaimed, as we walked through the door of our house, "we're ready to go back. You see, the cat and dog are just fine". We spent many months researching sailboats that would be comfortable for a liveaboard lifestyle. We chose a very beautiful and 'beamy' Jeanneau 50, with three large cabins. Three months later, we were on our Bahamian adventure. This lasted only five months as a strong hurricane chased us home. Just six months later, we decided to try it again. We were serious this time, and sold our house and cars and took off. This time, we fulfilled our dreams. We started in Charleston, SC and island hopped our way through the Bahamas, down the island 'highway', all the way to Grenada. Along the way, we experienced set-backs and some intense weather conditions, including riding out a hurricane. Surviving these events made us stronger. Lucky for us, we had far more good weather experiences. We met many wonderful and interesting cruisers and islanders along the way. After visiting each of the many beautiful islands, we discovered how different and unique each one was. Come along with us on our journey to discover the wonders of the Caribbean.

Perfect, very readable and interesting account of a sailing life especially for those considering a similar undertaking. Armchair sailers will not be disapppointed. A really excellent read.
